Sally Lloyd Davies
SLE Specialism:
Primary Maths
What are your current responsibilities?
- Raising maths standards throughout the school by teacher and T/A CPD.
- Monitoring of attainment, books and planning, lesson observations
- Team planning/teaching to targeted children
Why have you chosen to become an SLE?
I have really enjoyed watching standards in maths in my own school being raised. I love mentoring/supporting staff and would like to extend my role outside of my own school.
What are your areas of expertise? How might you be able to help the schools?
I am a Mast - this means I have done a Masters level qualification in teaching Primary Mathematics. I have experience of teaching maths in all year groups. As such I understand the progression in maths skills that is needed. I am particularly good at helping teachers to put maths teaching into practical lessons that consolidate learning. I am a firm believer in the mastery model of the New Curriculum. I can help maths leaders to analyse their data, prioritise learning needs and address provision of high quality learning opportunities by their staff.
